The Great British Care Awards – Carnival of Excellence in Social Care, East of England – took place on the 28th of October 2021. The Great British Care Awards, consisting of a series of regional events throughout the U.K., are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The awards also span Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. The purpose of the awards is to pay tribute to individuals and organisations, whom, within their field of work, have demonstrated outstanding excellence.

There are twenty-one award categories available for nomination, representing areas in the social care sector, from older people or specialist services to residential and home care. Individuals nominated are represented by frontline staff, including care workers and care managers, along with those who have made an impact in other ways including training and innovation.

The all-inclusive awards bring together the statutory, independent, and voluntary sectors along with unpaid carers, which in turn promotes joint working. At the heart of the awards initiative is a partnership with care partners and local care associations.

Thera iplanit project nomination

This year, Thera East Anglia were nominated for the Housing with Care award, and the application focused on how Thera use iplanit to provide person-centred services to vulnerable people . Aspirico has worked with the Thera Group on the implementation of the iplanit care management software to support inclusion, evidence value and drive quality.

Thera’s vision for the people they support is for them to be leaders in society and involved in the design of their own support. They use the iplanit care management software platform to roll out true person-centred planning while also capturing individual goals and achievements. The digitisation project across Thera includes support plans, care delivery data and person-centred outcome tracking with a focus on streamlining accessibility for both individuals supported and their families. Other project goals include enhancements to the existing support plan template, introduction of an end-of-life plan, and the rollout of digital logging of daily notes and logs. The iplanit care planning software was chosen as the simplest and most effective way possible for management to evidence the outstanding work that is done in relation to supporting people to achieve their goals while also demonstrating Thera’s social impact to investors.

Congratulations to Thera East Anglia on their success, we wish them every success in the future!
